Description:

Marking the beginning of Corning’s melting operations with a ceremony and press conference at its LCD glass manufacturing facility in the Tainan Science-based Industrial Park, Taiwan, Era helped make this a memorable milestone for Corning, the world’s largest liquid-crystal-display (LCD) glass maker.

TFT-LCD, an acronym for thin-flim transistor liquid crystal display, is an industry supported by the government’s “Two-Trillion, Two-Star” national development project that aims to help both the TFT-LCD and semiconductor industries each generate NT$1 trillion in production.

However, Taiwan’s manufacturers have been facing an upstream supply shortage, especially glass substrates. Promoting Corning’s initiative to meet the increased national demand for LCD glass, Era spoke of Corning’s new plant with expansion plans worth millions of NT dollars.

Era called upon journalists from both Taipei and Tainan to participate in the press conference and the ceremony. As guests to the ceremony, Era invited local governmental representatives and Corning’s partners and clients. With Era’s help, not only did Corning communicate its commitment to Taiwan, but also their relationship with the local government and its local clients were enhanced.

Remembering Taiwanese tradition, Corning offered Taoism’s sacrifices to dieties. Tying into the theme, Era also arranged a monkey-king dance to celebrate Corning’s success in the Monkey Year. Concluding the ceremony, the wealth deity presented Corning with an golden ingot to symbolize Corning melting operation’s success and prosperous sales.
